Homemade Valentines - Heart-y Friends

Ain’t they lovely? :)

Linky love : Valentine’s crafts for kids

There are many lovely Valentine’s Day craft ideas out there in the blogosphere, but these caught my eyes because I think they are easy enough for the kids to make by themselves. I do think that Valentines should be made by the kids since they are the ones who are doing the valentine exchanges. We moms should just sit back and help only when needed. :-)

Homemade Valentines (2011)

It’s the time of the year again… both kids will be exchanging valentines with their classmates next Monday. Since we had to wait for their daddy to come back home from work, the kids and I made these simple Valentines to kill time.

Homemade Valentine cards

Materials Used:
Red tempera/poster paint
Glue
Card stock/heavy construction paper
Pencil with round, flat eraser tip
Decorative ribbons (optional)

Steps:

1. Dip the rubber end of a pencil into some red tempera/poster paint and make some heart prints on a thick construction paper card. Put aside to let the paint dry.

2. Write your own Valentine message on the card or do what we did for our cards – use free printable Valentine’s cards. We found our cute V-Day message cards from the CreativeMammma.com. :)

3. Attach Valentine favor (pencil in our case) to the card.
