Bento #30-31: Lazy day Bentos

When laziness strikes, this is kind of bento I would pack for the man…

Egg and Ham sandwich with fruits.

Because the man doesn’t like his sandwich to turn too soggy at lunch, I always pack his bread separately in another box. He will assemble his own sandwich when he is ready to eat them. :)

Since this morning the kids were really cooperative by finishing their breakfast early, they get to draw something on the hard boiled eggs for their daddy. The boy drew a smiley face and a heart and the girl drew a flower. Hopefully the man felt our love for him when he had his bento lunch today. :)

As for the girl’s bento… Since Friday is “get Pizza lunch from school” day for the girl, I just packed a simple snack box for her.

Berries berries & lucky fortune cookie and lunch box note

Content: Strawberries, Raspberries, Blackberries and a fortune cookie (to give her some luck with her friend who has been very difficult with her lately … Sigh.) and an origami heart lunch box note. :)

To cheer her up, this is the note I wrote for her to read at snack time…

I’m pretty sure this note will help lighten up her mood when she gets to read it later! πŸ˜€

the girl’s latest drawings

Title :This is my daddy

My DH is going to complain, but I just have to show you what inspired the girl to draw this picture and how observant she was. (Sorry, dear! At least I downsized the picture. :P)

I think she did a good job in drawing her daddy. See how she even drew the hair stubs! So cute. What I like most about this picture is that she makes him looks like Mr. Potato from the toy story! I always joke about DH looking like Mr. Potato whenever he has a haircut but the self-proclaimed “Richard Gere” lookalike obviously disagree with me. Now his daughter drew him like Mr. Potato, I guess he cannot deny it violently any more. Hahaa…

Title: I am a Princess.

This month I see great improvements in the girl’s drawing of people. She no longer draws the limps like a stick now. She draws and decorates the clothing of the people and she even gives them shoes too! See the picture she drew of herself as a princess. She wore a tiara, a dress with heart shapes print and a strippy leggings. She even wore a high heeled shoes!

Here’s another picture she drew on the same day. It’s called “The King and The Queen”.

Don’t you just love the pictures?
It is such a joy to see her drawings these days. :)

my girl can finally rides a bicycle herself!

I think the girl has my sport genes, though I didn’t want to admit to my DH. (I know he will laugh when he reads this entry -_-). We have been trying to get her to learn how to ride her bicycle for the past 2 years and it was only recently that she finally knows how to maneuvers her bicycle.

So, when the weather is good, DH loves to bring the girl out for a bicycle ride. He couldn’t ride his own bicycle along with her yet though because the girl can sometimes lost control of her bicycle. But I’m pretty sure that he will be able to ride along with her next summer. Must have confidence in my girl mah! πŸ˜‰

it’s a gal!!

YES! We are going to have a baby girl!

We were so excited for the whole day since my very first Ultrasound scanning was scheduled for today at 3:30pm. Gibson couldn’t stop himself from giving me the silly grin when he came to pick me up from home to the hospital. D As for myself, I was pacing up and down for the whole morning, feeling really very anxious.

Finally, the sonographer called my name. Gibson and I held hand-in-hand and walked into the dim-lighted room. She applied some icy cool gel on my tummy and started the scanning…. Immediately we saw the images of our baby!!! The well-trained sonographer was able to immediately locate the baby in my uterus. It looked like an alien to me when i saw the images becos everything seems so distorted. Then suddenly, the image became clearer… Yes! For the very first time, we saw the baby’s face, the tiny arms and legs, the 4 valves of the pumping heart and also the beautiful spinal cord! The next few mins, the sonographer slowly and skilfully showed us a clearer picture of each and every part of the baby. The baby is definitely very very active, she was moving so much. We could see her swinging her hands, and stretching her legs from the computer screen. When i saw her two tiny feet, i was so touched that i became teary! It is definitely a very memorable and incredible moment in my life!! I am going to be a mom… unbelievable!

baby’s heart beats

Summer is finally here! This is the first week which we actually feel the heat, the weather is almost like Singapore’s, ranges around 30 deg C minus the humidity factor. Gibson and I tries our best to stay out of our house as much as possible. Usually after our heavy dinner, we will have a stroll to the nearby “Borders”, which is also known as OUR library, to enjoy the air-con and magazines.

Last Tuesday, 24 Jun, I have my 3rd checkup and got to hear our baby’s whoos-whoos-whoos heartbeats again!! During the scanning session, we heard a ‘Pop’ sound and the CMN told us that it was the kick from baby! Our baby is very active! ) So happy!! I am scheduled to have my ultrasound on 15 July. Ultrasound is a diagnostic medical test performed by a trained Sonographer. Sound waves are sent into the body to produce the image and we will be able to see our baby for the every first time and hopefully, we will know the sex of the baby by then! )

i love hearing those heart beating sound

Just went for my 2nd check up and we got to hear our baby’s heartbeats!! Both Gibson and I are so excited because this is the very first time we are feeling that the baby is here for real. The CNM used a small ultrasound device and place the stereoscope on my abdominal and it amplified the sound of activities happening inside my small protruding tummy. Then we heard a fast and steady heart beats and the display was showing that the baby is having a heart beat of 171 times per minute. It is amazing!

terrible morning sickness

The smell of the beef stew which Gibson made was unbearable. I felt nauseaous and weak. My appetite has changed drastically over the weeks. Any vegetables with strong smell like the celery, green peppers and any meat/fish will make me feel sick. For at least 3 weeks, i survived with just bread, biscuits and bananas as anything that i have to cook would make me nauseaous. It was only since last week that i started to eat some other things again. I particularly love to eat Tofu Tomato soup, Ikan Bilis Soup, Pork Ribs with turnips soup over rice, and plain porridge with steam eggs and perserved veges.

Since that day i was told that i am aneamic, Gibson has been trying to get me to eat beef. He made the effort to cook a beef steak for me last Sunday. It really touches my heart. But then… if i have a choice, i would rather not eat it. P
