Another dragon craft (with template)

I was invited to do a special Chinese New Year story time at our local library and also the boy’s class a few days ago. As both activities involved a rather large group of children, I needed to modify the dragon craft a little so that it is simple enough for the kids to do by themselves with very minimum help from the adults.

For young kids, they just need to color the dragon head, attach the head cutout and some colorful crepe tails to a craft stick with glue.

For older kids, they can try to do something different.
See the pix below.

They will do the exact same thing for the dragon head part. Then, instead of letting the crepe paper tails hang loose, they will glue the end of the crepe paper tails to another craft stick and then attached the tail cutout.

Here’s another pix of the dragon craft that was done by a 7yo boy with no help at all. :)

It is really that easy!

There are many requests for this dragon parts template, so I’m sharing with you this template that I have used for the craft. The original Chinese dragon head can be found on Sprout Online. I just created the tail image with a simple imaging tools and saved both images on a single file.
