Mid-Autumn Festival is just round the corner (3 October) and every year I would try to do something special with the kids as I would like them to grow up knowing and appreciating (if possible) our culture and traditions. One of the thing we do is to create a lantern together since mid-Autumn Festival is also known as Lantern Festival. As I was “cracking” my head for the craft idea, the girl came up to me and said, “Mommy, since we made a crab lantern last year, we should do a fish lantern this year!”
And so, that’s exactly what we did and here are the end products.
Paper plates (small)
Crepe paper ribbons
Drinking straws/disposable chopsticks
Any sort of papers in assorted colors for the fish scales (either use crepe papers, recycled magazine pages, construction papers)
